## Courses

**According to the Art. 51 of the PPPGFSC Bylaws, the Master’s and Doctoral courses are categorized into the following types:**

I – required courses: these are indispensable courses to the student. They can be more generalist or specific of a concentration area, and are defined by a normative resolution issued by the PPGFSC coordinator and approved by the Program’s Council and by the Graduate Studies Council;

II – electives: these are the courses covering more specific aspects related to the concentration areas of the Program, as well the courses that integrate knowledge from other areas;

III – teaching practicum: course regulated by a specific normative resolution issued by the PPGFSC coordinator and approved by the Program’s Council, in compliance with the relevant Graduate Studies Council resolution.

**The PPGFSC/UFSC strongly recommends that master’s and doctoral students attend the required courses at the undergraduate level****. **
