Mirley Mesquita Coelho Nunes, discente do mestrado do Programa de Pós-graduação em Física (PPGFSC), participou da Escola de Verão do Vaticano, realizada entre os dias 1º e 27 de junho em Castel Gandolfo, nos arredores de Roma. O evento promovido pelo Observatório Astronômico do Vaticano (Specola Vaticana), reuniu 24 jovens astrônomos de 22 países, oferecendo um espaço de imersão científica, intercâmbio cultural e aprofundamento em temas atuais da astrofísica.
Neste ano, a escola teve como foco a análise das descobertas dos três primeiros anos de operação do Telescópio Espacial James Webb, lançado em dezembro de 2021.
Um dos momentos marcantes da Escola de Verão foi a audiência com o Papa Francisco, que recebeu os estudantes no Vaticano. Na ocasião, Leão XIV destacou a importância do estudo da astronomia e saudou os participantes com a entusiasmada exclamação: “Um momento entusiasmante para ser astrônomo!”
A participação de Mirley Mesquita Coelho Nunes representa não apenas o reconhecimento de seu mérito acadêmico e dedicação à pesquisa, também o fortalecimento da presença da ciência brasileira em eventos científicos internacionais de prestígio.

In order to meet the criteria of item 5.1.2 of Notice 003/2025/PPGSFC, the candidate may attach a document to the work plan (model Annex I of the notice) containing additional information on items that do not have a field to be filled in on the work plan model.

● Adherence to the thematic items in item 1.3;
Adherence to the line(s) of research developed at the PPGFSC/UFSC, in particular the correspondence with the activities of the supervising professor;
Clear definition of the research object and problem to be developed, the theoretical framework to be used and the problems to be addressed;
● The bibliographical references used are up-to-date;
● Justification of the relevance and potential scientific contribution of the project, including the expectation of bibliographic production;
Explanation of the correspondence between the Work Plan and the applicant’s previous research activities and academic activities.
Consistency of the work plan with the research project and the duration of the grant.
