National Postdoctoral Program (PNPD/CAPES)

The National Postdoctoral Program (PNPD) of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) is a research grant program that awards funds to postdoctoral research projects in academic graduate programs recommended by CAPES.

There are 3 types of grants awarded by PNPD/CAPES, described in further details in the regulation of the program. Although researchers registered in Type C may interrupt their regular employment activities and resume them after concluding the activities of the Program, no researcher receiving funds from PNPD/CAPES is allowed to develop professional activities concomitant to their research activities, under penalty of being obliged to repay CAPES the amounts received plus fine and interest. We recommend that the applicants carefully read the regulation in order to familiarize themselves with the details of each type of grant.
