Seminar with professor Fernando B. Dias – November 27, 2020 (friday) – 10:15 a.m.
THE PHYSICS GRADUATE PROGRAM invites everyone to the seminar:
Triplet Harvesting in Organic Light Emitting Diodes
Fernando B. Dias
Department of Physics, Durham University, Durham DH1 3LE, UK.
Abstract:
In this talk we will discuss recente investigations on the development of organic materials with eficiente triplet harvesting properties. The photophysics of bi-metallic compounds showing eficiente room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) and donor-acceptor compounds showing eficiente termal activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) will be discussed. These materials have enormous potential in diferente technological applications, including the development of materials for oxygen, and temperature sensing, bio-imaging, and in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). This tal kis aimed to a non-specialized audience, covering fundamental concepts in the photophysics of these materials, and also discussing techniques and methods that are currently used on their characterizations. I hope this talk to be an excelent opportunity for someone that is starting to work in this field to ask all these buming questions we all have when entering a new area of research.
