Abstract:
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is one of the most powerful optical imaging techniques, providing a high spatial resolution (sub-micrometer) with few millimeters’ penetration depth, depending upon the material or biomaterial. In this talk, I will initially describe how the OCT technique works, and then will take you through a journey of OCT applications in the biomedical world, with pre-clinical (laboratory) and clinical examples.
In particular, we will describe results from our group where OCT has been exploited in dentistry, including dental materials, in vitro and in vivo applications.
