Debora Peres Menezes

Professor Debora Peres Menezes holds a Bachelor’s degree (1983) and a Licentiate degree in Physics (1984) from the University of São Paulo (USP), a master’s degree in Physics from USP (1986), a doctorate at the University of Oxford, England (1989), post-doctorate from the University of Coimbra, Portugal (1998), senior research internship at Sydney University, Australia (2005) and at the University of Alicante, Spain (2014). She is currently a Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and a member of the Commission of Nuclear Physics and Applications, linked to the Brazilian Physical Society. She was a Pro-Rector of Research and Extension at UFSC from May 2008 to May 2012, a member of the Evaluation Committee of University Extension (CPAE), linked to the Forum of Pro-Rectors of Extension (FORPROEX) from 2010 to 2013, and a coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Physics at UFSC from October 2006 to May 2008. She has experience in the area of Physics, with emphasis in Nuclear Physics and hadron physics, working mainly on the following topics: equations of state, neutron stars, bosonic mappings, quantum algebras, relativistic models, and nuclear astrophysics. She is an ad hoc adviser for CNPq, CAPES, FINEP, FAPESC, Fundação Araucária, FAPESP, and USP and a regular reviewer for several international journals (Phys. Rev., Int. J. Modern Phys., Nucl. Phys., etc).
