Debora Peres Menezes

Dr. Menezes has a degree in Physics/Bachelor’s (1983), Physics Teaching (1984) and a Master’s in Physics (1986) from the University of São Paulo (1986), a PhD from the University of Oxford, England, a post-doctorate from the University of Coimbra, Portugal (1998), a senior internship from Sydney University, Australia (2005) and the University of Alicante, Spain (2014). She is a Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where she was Dean of Research and Extension from May 2008 to May 2012. She was a member of the Management Committee of INCT-Nuclear Physics and Applications from 2018 to 2022, a member of the Nuclear Physics Commission (C12) of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) from 2018 to 2021, and President of the Brazilian Physical Society from 2021 to 2023. She is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and is currently Director of CNPq.
